How we care for people

Taking care of people involves engagement in numerous areas that encompass topics of occupational safety, employee health and upholding human rights. We aim to create a supportive environment by prioritising transparent communication, ensuring physical and mental health of employees along our entire value chain, offering growth opportunities, and providing practical guidance.

Health, safety and wellbeing are key

Thehealth, safety and wellbeingof our own employees and workers across the value chain is our single most importantpriorityand the very prerequisite for sustainable business success. Ourcommitment to safetyruns through our entire organisation, guided by Toyota Industries Corporation's Zero Accidents Visionand the Bradley Safety Model, emphasising leadership, equipment, processes, and people.

We’re all about people

For us, this means active listening, collaborating, setting clear guidelines, promoting work-life balance, offering flexibility, and providing tools and resources for wellbeing of everyone, also for the people who work for our customers, suppliers, distributors and other business partners. This shared commitment is why we’re all about people.

Diversity, equity and inclusion

We strongly believe an inclusive culture thrives on diverse perspectives and backgrounds, which enrich our workplace and fuel innovation. To be successful, we need everyone’s full commitment and support. Here, everyone contributes to building such a culture.

With the full support of our Executive Management Team and all Managing Directors, we actively invest in DEI initiatives. Our policies are designed to eliminate bias in recruitment, foster fairness and create equal opportunities. A company-wide e-learning course reinforces commitment to inclusion at every level.

Building a sustainable value chain

As a global leader in forklift manufacturing, we are committed to building a circular supply chain, embedding responsible practices into every stage of our sourcing process. With 80% of our suppliers located near our production sites, we strengthen local economies while reducing transportation impact. At the same time, we recognise the complexities of working with suppliers across diverse regions, where legal protections and sustainability standards vary. That’s why we’ve established a dedicated ESG Workgroup within our Procurement Department, ensuring our operations not only comply with emerging legislation but also actively drive our sustainability objectives.

Our Sustainable Procurement initiative is already delivering measurable progress. We encourage suppliers to follow our Code of Conduct and join the EcoVadis platform, enabling transparent assessments and continuous improvement. By combining strong governance with supplier collaboration, we are shaping a value chain that is not only efficient but also committed to fair labour practices and environmental impact reduction.

Our communities

Looking beyond business as usual and embracing sustainability as a shared responsibility

Safeguarding natural habitats

Taking care of communities means looking beyond business as usual and embracing sustainability as a shared responsibility. We are committed to monitoring and preventing pollution, protecting biodiversity and ecosystems, and managing PFAS in our products to reduce long-term risks. Our focus on deforestation reflects the urgency of safeguarding natural habitats and the communities that depend on them.

At the same time, we are raising our level of governance to ensure equal legal protection, especially since not all our suppliers operate in regions with strong safeguards. While most are based in Europe, some are located in countries where protection remains weaker and communities are more vulnerable. Recent EU climate and social regulations challenge us to go further, and we welcome this opportunity to create a level playing field.

Our focus on proactive health and wellbeing initiatives is growing. All our factories are now ISO 45001 certified for occupational health and safety management systems, and we are working toward extending this certification to all Marketing & Sales Companies and warehouses by 2029.
